Pakistan’s new Government last Thursday has decided to put ban on 30 Imported Luxury-Items which includes cars, fruit and mobile phones to help boost country’s declining economy.
During recent times national currency hit a historic low on Thursday, with rupee standing at 200 per 1 USD.
“My decision to ban (the) import of luxury items will save the country precious foreign exchange as at present it is very important to control it ,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tweeted.
List of banned import items.
Here is a list of 30 0dd imported items which have been banned by the current Government to help Pakistan regain Rupee stability against US Dollar.

3. Fruits and Dry Fruits
(except from Afghanistan)

5. Private Weapons & Ammunition
6. Shoes
7. Chandeliers & Lighting (except Energy Savers)
9. Sauces, Ketchup etc.

12. Sanitary ware

14. Carpets (except from Afghanistan)

“Through this the Government is expected to save $6 billion by imposing a ban on import of the luxury items,” information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said at a press conference, adding that the ban would be effective immediately.
“The decision will give a boost to the local economy and industry as the country badly needs to strengthen rupee standing against US Dollar “.
Pakistan’s current trade deficit stands at a massive $39.2 billion and it is widening day by day which is a alarming situation and needs to be addressed on immediate basis.

One of the major setback Samsung and iphone smart phone lover’s will have to bear at present will be of Ban on imported Samsung and iphone smart phones and there accessories. As the both the Smart phone giant’s have a huge customer market in Pakistan and with the current ban on mobile phone and accessories will halt its sale in this part of the region.
