Prize Bond Rs25000 Last Date to Exchange Extended

RS25000 Prize Bond was discontinued through a Finance Ministery notification dated 09 December 2020 and investors were asked to exchange the same till 31 May 2021.

As the date gets closer, Finance Ministry through another notification dated 28 May 2021 issued a notification to further extend the date to exchange Rs25000 Prize bonds. The new date to exchange NPB Rs25000 will be 30th September 2021.

As the current covid situation prevails many people still keep the bond and unable to exchange especially Overseas Pakistanis who are out of the country and can not fly back to Pakistan as the flights are suspended.


Three options were given to investors to exchange their bearer bonds

1- Exchange with Premium Prize Bonds

Investors can exchange their bearer Prize Bonds with the Premium Prize Bonds of Rs25000. Just visit the banks authorized to deal with Premium Prize Bonds. Deposit your bearer bonds into your bank with a deposit slip and a Prize Bonds encash slip. The Prize bonds will be deposited into your bank account and then with this money, you can purchase Premium Prize bonds. for that, you need a CNIC copy and a bank certificate.

2- Exchange with National Saving Product

Bearer bonds can be exchanged with National Saving Centers products like Special Saving Certificates and Defence Saving Certificates.

3-Deposit into Bank Account.

No cash will be given against your bearer prize bonds but you may deposit them into your bank accounts. As stated earlier, fill the deposit slip along with a Prize Bonds encash slip and deposit it into your bank account. The amount will immediately be credited back to your bank account.

Further, this is really good news for Prize bonds investors that the date has been extended to 30th September 2021 for National Prize Bonds Rs25000. Now it’s obvious that the Rs15000 date will also be extended as a very short time period was given to exchange Rs15000 prize bond whose the last date to exchange is 30 June 2021
